M. Linda (Lindy)'s Story
I'm using the "Story Wizard" to help me with information about me and my life so here goes:
1. I always wanted to get married, have children, the white picket fence, etc. etc. My life didn't go that way at all but now, looking back, I feel fortunate for the children (nieces, nephews, godchildren) I have in my life and know that they filled that void for me then and now.
2. How do I "blow off steam and relax"? Truth is there is little in life that causes me to get a head of steam. I nearly always have music playing when I'm home ~ rock & roll, blues, blue grass, anything but opera and hip hop. So I'm usually pretty easy going.
3. The wildest thing I ever did in school? Geez ~ I did nothing wild in high school. It wasn't till I met up with my first husband that I took the 'wild and crazy' route. Again . . . another life lesson.
4. Do I have a hero? My heroes are my parents. They were the most incredible couple I've ever known. They were, in fact, an impossible act to follow. Try as I may I never found a love like theirs.
5. I was born in Illinois and moved to Massachusetts when I was 12. After high school/secretarial school I married and moved to Pasadena, CA. When that marriage fell apart I came back to MA and lived in Framingham and worked at Zayre. I remarried several years later and lived in Lexington and Magnolia, MA. When I divorced again, at age 52, I built a home in Upton, MA where I now live with two dogs ~ my fuzzy family.
6. I've been to a few reunions even though I really don't know many of my classmates. I find it all very interesting though and come equiped with my camera (I'm a photographer wanna be). I would love to sit down with Fran Murphy and dis...Expand for more
cuss the past 45 years. Fran was a friend and we went to the prom together as friends. I was so jealous of his artistic ability and would like to learn about what direction his life took. I think he married and had a family but beyond that I don't know.
7. Sports. Reality TV. Pets. Share your obsessions. I don't enjoy sports on TV ~ do, sometimes, catch a piece of a reality tv show. I am an animal lover and have never been without at least one dog (often two).
8. What happened to your first crush? Interesting. I was three years old and the little boy, Bobby, that lived across the street from me in Illinois, fit that bill. We were best buds for several years. I just got home Sunday night from another "road trip" and visited Bob and his wife Bobbi in Illinois where we laughed over our childhood days. I love knowing the people I cared about in this life are well and sharing good times with them again.
9. Still dress like you did 10 (or 20) years ago? I'm pretty sure the clothes I wore in high school (that would be 40+ years ago) would never make it for me today. However ~ I do love some of the 60's styles that have revisited us. Mostly I dress for comfort with a bit of a flair ~ kind of the old hippie look :)
10. I share my home with two dogs. Jessie is a female, 9 year old peek-a-poo and Phoebe is a 4 year old cairne terrier/poodle cross. They look a bit like "Lady and the Tramp". They travel with me (I have a 23' RV that I do road trips in come March) and keep me company at home.
11. One do-over? I would have searched harder for the man that wanted to have a family instead of an adventure.
That's probably way more info than anyone cares to read. What the heck . . .
